Class Descriptions

Certified by Washington State Department of Labor and Industries

CEU-WA offers two 8 hour classes of Journeyman CEUs the first weekend of every month and three classes at the beginning of every quarter:

- Electrical Theory (8hr)

- NEC Review (4hr)

- Code Required RCW-WAC (4hr)

- Required NEC Code Update (8hr)

Classes are $105 per day, $90 each if you are unemployed

Journeymen are required to take 24 hours of CEUs to renew their cards, including the 4 hour class on the RCW-WAC and 8 hours of the NEC update.

Introduction to electrical theory, voltage, resistance, current, power, work, Ohms law, power law, series circuits, parallel circuits, how to use UGLYs Electrical reference. Review of fractions and algebra as necessary.

Review of the NEC and its structure


Review of the NEC and its structure with highlights of recent changes to the NEC. One to two hours focusing on Section 430 motors and its details. Lessons learned about how to quickly access information within the NEC.


Review of the RCW-WAC and their structure with highlights of recent changes to the CODE. Focusing on the Washington Administrative Code for the electrician. Lessons learned about how to quickly access information within the NEC.

Review of NEC Sections 220 and 430, Major Calculations, for Administrators
